Interviewing a candidate just once

We recommend interviewing a candidate just once.

Why?

We see in our work, the longer an interview process, the more chance of losing the candidate. They are often approached by your competitors and apply elsewhere, especially recently.

Try to arrange one interview with all the decision-makers available. If you are an owner, consider giving staff the knowledge, training and autonomy to make the decision.

All tests etc. should be covered in that one interview.

This will also save you and the candidate time/expense.

Arrange your one interview with haste, and make yourself available. Leaving this two weeks is not ideal. The most important aspect of a business is the people, make this a priority.

Understand it is a two-way street, especially now, interviewing a candidate requires you to attract the best people with a compelling career move. Get this across at that interview as best you can.
